Fuck What You Love is a zine about popstar crushes, featuring writing from women and LGBTQ+ people. The zine celebrates the importance of crushing on musicians to marginalised music fans, and gives voice to passions that are often dismissed as silly or trite by cishet male music critics
The essays in issue two are dedicated to crushes as diverse as Rihanna, George Michael, Cho Kyuhyun, Shakira and Harry Styles, with female/LGBTQ+ writers from around the world addressing subjects such as the dyke-glam of male rock stars, the irresistible allure of the boyband, masculinity and sex in Country music, and discovery of self through queer crushes.
The zine is a 56-page A5 publication, black and white inside with a dreamy pale pink cover. It’s designed by Manchester-based graphic designer Kate Dunstone, with gorgeous images by illustrator Jessica Taylor.
